What are PPLI and PPVA?

Private placement life insurance (“PPLI”) is a type of life insurance where each policy is customized, flexible, and tailored to the unique needs of each policyholder. It is typically used as part of an overall wealth management strategy to help preserve and transfer wealth to future generations.

A private placement variable annuity (“PPVA”) is a wealth management structure and a savings tool that allow a contract holder to tax-efficiently transfer funds earmarked for the future or charitable causes.  For institutional investors, a PPVA may create a tax-efficient way to hold certain alternative investments.
