Alan Jahde is the co-founder, co-shareholder, and CEO of Investors Preferred Life Insurance Company. He also was a co-founder, in 1995, of the law firm of Anderson & Jahde, P.C., focusing on international income and estate tax planning, private placement life insurance, charitable, defined benefit pension planning, and tax controversy. In 2001, he also co-founded Castle Re Insurance Company, Ltd. a Bermuda based, long term life insurance carrier.
Alan has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Nebraska in 1975, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia in 1979, and an LL.M., Masters of Law in Taxation, from the University of Denver in 1987. He is a former member of the Taxation and Trust and Estate Sections of the Colorado Bar Association and former Program Chair and past President of the Centennial Estate Planning Council.
Over the past thirty-five years, Alan has developed considerable tax expertise in the areas of private placement life insurance and annuities, dynasty trusts, LLCs, and related estate and income tax planning structures.
Tommy Mayes is President and Director of Investors Preferred Life. In addition, Tommy is the Executive Advisor for SunGate Capital, LLC, a singe family investment office with interests in real estate, technology, medical imaging, real estate, banking and insurance. In addition, he is an investor and board member of Blueprint Investment Partners, LLC, a dynamic, innovative institutional investment advisor utilizing systematic approaches to investment management.
Tommy has broad experience advising many successfulmultignerational families, and the advisors that serve them, in the areas ofinvestments, governance, risk management, family office structure andsuccession. Tommy has a track record of success in evolving a single familyoffice to a modern wealth management organization and attracting outsidecapital. He has served as an advisor and consultant to a number of successful familieswith significant public and direct private equity investments, and hasadditional expertise in the structuring and formation of private family trustcompanies.
With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, he has served as President and CEO of a multi-family private trust company and simultaneously founded a registered investment advisory firm serving these select clients. Tommy served over 18 years with Wachovia Wealth Management(now Wells Fargo) in progressive leadership positions, including serving as President of the Palm Beach Private Bank and establishing the multi-family office now known as Abbot Downing in that market.Tommy has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Callaway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University in 1988. He later earned his Certification in Financial Planning designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado, and attended graduate studies in International Economics and Finance at the London School of Economics.
While residing in Greensboro,North Carolina, he maintains offices in both Greensboro and Winter Park,Florida.
Nikki Pethtel is the Chief Financial Officer of Investors Preferred Life Insurance Company. She is responsible for the overall financial leadership of IPL, enforcing strong financial management accountability and providing timely and reliable financial reporting while overseeing strict internal controls within the organization.
Nikki possesses over 18 years of extensive experience in a wide range of leadership, management, and advisory positions within the Insurance Industry. She also spent 4 years in public accounting auditing primarily insurance entities. Prior to joining IPL, Nikki was the Director of Accounting and Reporting for Eagle Technology and past CFO for Mid Rogue IPA.
Nikki currently serves as the IASA Desert State Chapter President. She has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Clayton State University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University.
